世界最高峰のメディアアート賞「アルス・エレクトロニカ賞」の長い歴史から、近年の代表作品を集めた『Best of Prix Ars Electronica』に、2018年に栄誉賞を受賞した「Digital Shaman Project」が、日本人で唯一選出されていました。
I’m honored to share that my “Digital Shaman Project” (2018 Honorary Mention) has been selected for the official anthology “Best of Prix Ars Electronica”—a collection of landmark artworks chosen from the history of the Prix ArsElectronica!

The anthology mainly features Golden Nica (Grand Prize) winners, so I was honestly surprised to see my work included, since I received an Honorary Mention rather than the Grand Prize. Nevertheless, it’s a huge honor to have my project recognized as one of the defining works in the award’s history.
Special thanks to Minoru Hatanaka and Gabin Ito, who mentored me when I was a newcomer through the Agency for Cultural Affairs’ creator development program.

歴代の錚々たるグランプリ作品（Golden Nica）が並ぶなか、自分が受賞したのはグランプリではなく栄誉賞だったので、なぜこの並びに入れて頂いてるのか不思議なのですが、
重要な作品のひとつとして今も位置付けていただけているようで大変光栄です。

「デジタルシャーマン・プロジェクト」は、私がまだ会社員で、作家としても駆け出しだった20代に制作した作品で、当時はまさかここまで長く残る作品になるとは想像もしていませんでした。
当時、文化庁のクリエイター育成支援事業にて、作品が炎上しがちな危なっかしい新人を丁寧にメンタリングしてくださった畠中実さん、伊藤ガビンさんに、改めて感謝いたします。

これからも、しぶとく活動していきます。
