触ると艶かしく喘ぐ大根。

日本には「性の大豊作」と言って良いほど驚くべき豊かな性文化があります。男根崇拝、秘宝館、クリエイティブすぎるラブホテル、春画、TENGAという徹底的に洗練されたアダルトグッズなど、太古から現代に至るまで、日本人のエロに関するクリエイティヴィティには、目を見張るものがあります。

日本性文化見聞録の「エロティック・ジャポン」がフランスでベストセラーになるなど、日本の不可思議かつ良質なエロに関する国際的な注目度も高くなってきていますが
メディアアートの分野において、なぜか「性」の香りが排除されていることに疑問を持ち、この「セクハラ・インターフェース」の制作を開始しました。日本人が潜在的に持つエロに関する豊かなイマジネーションに、これまた日本人特有のデバイスへのフェチズムを融合する試みです。
２年強の試行錯誤を重ねて出来上がったのが、現在の「大根を撫でると艶かしく喘ぐ」シンプルなデバイスでした。

In Japan we have what we may call it “the grand harvest of erotic culture”, an abundant presentation of pronounced sexuality. Initiating form the phallus worshiping in the ancient times to later emerging of “Hiho-kan”(local museums exhibiting erotic customs, oftentimes in humorous manner), elaborate and far-creative motels for couples, “Shunga”(fine drawings of erotic scenes, became popular in Edo era) and to the thoroughly refined designs of sex gadgets such represented by “TENGA”. Japanese have shown astonishingly highly developed culture concerning the world of eroticism. Signified by the high sales of the book “Erotic Japon”in France, a documentary of various sexual customs of Japan, this peculiar but highly refined style of eros of this country is drawing international attention lately. However, a doubt arouse in me that the field of media arts has long rejected erotic taste, which triggered me to start this project, “Sekuhara Interface”.This is an experiment to fuse the fertile imagination concerning sex which I hold belief Japanese potentially store within, and the strong fetishism for mechanical devices which is also characteristic of Japanese. Over two years of trials and prototypes have brought this project to form in the style it is today, a simple device which “Japanese white radishes moan voluptuously when caressed”.
